Portals between different realms of the Umbra. Sometimes held open on one side, sometimes on both. Creating a rift seems to drawn the two realms closer together. It's also possible to open a rift without aiming it specifically, in which case it can be hijacked. Travelling through one and going too far can lead too Umbral Travelling Sickness.

Features heavily in the latter half of Season Six (Season_Six#2022-08-15 onwards).
