Lydia's Birth Parents died in a crash in Papua New Guinea during which Lydia was "saved by a miracle" and also Colonel Redacted. Her parents were on their way to East Timor working for the UK SIS/MI6. Her father knew it was dangerous and left her a letter discussing the chance he wouldn't make it back, there is no mention of God in the letter.
